Why is this website here?

The website was created by me in my spare time. It is not a serious website, more a starting place for people learning to play. I am, however,  looking into making it separate from freewebs after the amount of questions and responses ive had. I am not a professional trumpet player, i am a secondary school student with 9 years experience of playing, so, i probably know the answers to most questions you have. If you would like futhur advice on playing, please feel free to email me as the whole reason of creating this website was to try and help people and get them started!!!!

1st Trumpet

Right, I am fed up of getting emails from players asking me which 1st trumpet to buy so here it is, my definitive list of 1st trumpets i find acceptable

YAMAHA YTR-1335
...

Yes, boring i know, the trumpet every beginner has, but it is for a good reason. It is cheap, reliable, sounds good and will take you up to Grade 5, after which the choice gets more difiicult....
I played this trumpet up to Grade 5 and never had any problems with it. I now play a New York #7 Bach Strad which, yes is much much better, but also much more expensive and much harder to play. If you have a load of cash and want to start playing, i recommend going to your local trumpet shop and seeing if they have any Getzen trumpets, otherwise stick with the Yamahas.

But DON'T buy a Xeno, as a first trumpet or a third.
